Texas license lookup / Renewal calculator
TDLR license renewal calculator
Pick your license type and enter its expiration date. You get the days left, when to start your continuing education, what the hours are, and a reminder you can add to your own calendar. Everything runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent or stored.
Not sure of the date? It is on your record in the official TDLR license search.
How the dates are worked out
Why start 60 days before?
TDLR suggests starting 30 to 60 days ahead for some programs. Course providers take a few days to report your hours, and a renewal cannot be completed until the hours are on file, so the calculator works back from your expiration date: start the coursework at 60 days, have it reported by 30, renew before the date.
How is the next expiration date estimated?
From the renewal cycle of your license type in the public TDLR file: most license types renew every year, while barbering, cosmetology and a few others run two years. Renewing early does not move your date.
What if my license has already expired?
You cannot work under it until it is renewed, late fees rise the longer you wait, and after a program-specific limit renewal is no longer possible at all. Read what happens when a Texas license expires and check the exact rules for your program with TDLR.
Is anything saved?
No. The page does the arithmetic in your browser. The calendar file is generated on your device, and the Google Calendar button simply opens Google with the event filled in. PermitPulled receives nothing.
