Who we are

PermitPulled (permitpulled.com) is an independent website. We are not affiliated with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) or any government agency. You can reach us at info@permitpulled.com.

Two kinds of information

We handle two different kinds of information, and we treat them differently:

• Public license records that TDLR publishes about licensed professionals in Texas.
• Information you give us when you sign up for renewal reminders.

Public license records

TDLR publishes a file of the licenses it issues. We use that file only to produce aggregated statistics, such as how many licenses of each type are active in each county and how many expire each month. We do not publish individual license records, and the statistics on this site cannot be used to identify any person.

Renewal reminders: what we collect

Reminder sign-ups are not currently open. This section describes how we will handle the information if we reopen them.

If you sign up for reminders, we store:

• your email address;
• the license number you entered, and the license type and expiration date we match to it from the public records;
• the date and time you signed up, and the version of the consent statement you agreed to;
• a one-way hash of your IP address, used only to detect abuse. We cannot recover your IP address from it.

How we use it

We use this information to send you reminders before your license expires, together with information that helps you renew, such as the requirements for your license type.

Reminder emails may also include information about continuing-education courses, and some of that content may be sponsored by course providers. Sponsored content is always labelled as such.

We do not sell, rent or share your email address with course providers, advertisers or anyone else. A sponsor only learns who you are if you choose to contact them or buy from them yourself.

How long we keep it

We keep your reminder information while you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe, we stop all reminders immediately and keep only your email address on a suppression list, so that we do not contact you again by mistake. You can ask us to delete even that record.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies and does not currently use an analytics service. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and Google receives your IP address when you visit. If we add analytics or advertising technology in the future, we will update this policy before doing so.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the site: Namecheap for web hosting, Zoho for email, and Google for fonts. They process information only as needed to provide their service. Our servers and email provider are located in the United States. Because the site is operated from outside the United States, information may also be accessed from there.

Security

The reminder list and the license database are stored on the server outside public access and are never served to visitors. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect so that there is little to expose.

Your choices and rights

• Stop reminders at any time using the link in any reminder email, or on the unsubscribe page.
• See, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing info@permitpulled.com. We will respond within 30 days.
• Remove your license record from this site by emailing us your license number.

Depending on where you live, state privacy laws may give you additional rights. We honor requests made under them through the same contact address.

Children

This site is intended for adults and license holders. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. If a change affects how we use the email addresses we already hold, we will tell subscribers before it takes effect.
